A gentle and joyful community musical celebration!  
Come experience a loving learning environment! 
We will sing together, explore new songs and skills, and generate a place of belonging!

We will sing songs of peace and healing and culminate in a recording project and a tree and garden planting ceremony!

Songs are energetic healing patterns for children and everyone. 

Come make a musical foundation for healing in your family and our world!  

20 children max per class but more classes can be added!  

The focus is for kids 6-12, although all ages are welcome.   Siblings are welcome!  
Kids under 6 will need to be accompanied by parents/ caregivers
Babies welcome! 
For children 6 and up- parents and caregivers are welcome! 
Children and people of all ages learn beautifully together 

ABOUT BECKY STARK

Becky Stark joined the guest faculty at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur this summer teaching Peace Choir for all ages. She leads a kids choir at the Sequoyah School in Pasadena. She is a singer and composer - with her band Lavender Diamond she has released 4 albums, including releases on Matador and Rough Trade, and she has performed extensively all over the world, including performances at Disney Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center,  & the Newport Folk Festival among many others. She sang and toured with John C. Reilly in the bluegrass and vaudeville band, John Reilly and Friends, recording with Jack White for a release on Third Man Records. She is the founder of the LA Ladies Choir, the LA River Choir, and a member of the Living Sisters, composing and writing harmonic arrangements for all of these ensembles. She sang the role of Margaret in the Decemberists' rock opera “The Hazards of Love,” released on Capitol Records.  She is the composer of the songs of The Believers for the film version of the children's literature classic the “City of Ember” produced by Tom Hanks and starring Bill Murray. She studied Comparative Literature and Art Semiotics at Brown University. As co- founder of the Earth Activation Group along with artist Sara Rara she installed a Monarch Butterfly Corridor along the LA River in connection with a musical celebration of river songs she composed for a choral performance and planting ceremony with support from the LA River Public Art Project. She leads the Community Peace Choir at Scribble Community Center in Highland Park. The NY Times described her as "Lucille Ball and Tinkerbell engaged in a duet.” She deeply loves teaching and singing with children and she is thrilled to offer this class at the Healing Force of the Universe!
