0-2 years baby band class: $165/month (45 min)

3-5 years band class: $165/month (45 min)

5-8 years band class: $200/month (60 min)

Bring your kids 0-8 into the Universe of Healing Force! Your little dippers will be surrounded by various instruments that will inspire a deeper exploration of music through familiar songs, both old and new.

Nestled in a cozy living room setting, newborn to eight-year-old kiddos are introduced to traditional rock band instrumentation and experience collaboration with their teacher and local musician, Natalie Meadors of Valley Queen.

0-3 years baby band classes: Parents come to baby class and play along to help introduce collaboration to their kids with fun games, sing-alongs, and movement. Saturday or Sunday mornings at 10 AM. Maximum of 8 families.

3-5 years band classes: 3-5 year olds learn to play amongst themselves with the guidance of a professional musician! Every 3-5-year-old is assigned an instrument in the band (drums, bass, guitar, vocals) and will learn a song (that we collectively choose) over the course of each season. Saturday or Sunday mornings at 9 AM. Parents are welcome to participate in the first two classes to help their little ones feel comfortable in our space. After that, the class transitions to a drop-off format, allowing the kiddos to get the most out of the class. Parents are welcome to hang out and mingle under our front atrium (we’ll make a pot of coffee) or head out for a breakfast date/neighborhood stroll, etc, for the duration of the class. Maximum of 6 kiddos - the max ratio for kids to teachers is 6:1.

5-8 years band class: 5-8 year classes receive slightly more advanced attention to their instruments, moving further than the basic concepts of 3-5 year beginners. Mondays after school from 4-5 PM. Bands cap out at 8 students.

In addition to song-based learning, the kids get a taste of all the instruments, as well as artistic activities that reinforce musical concepts as they are learned.

We meet once a week on Saturdays or Sundays until the season culminates at a Join the Band, Heal the Universe Concert at Healing Force of the Universe. Family and friends welcome to attend!

3-5 year-old classes at 9 AM on Saturdays or Sundays from January 10 to April 4

5-8-year-old classes at 4 PM on Mondays from January 12 to April 4 or Saturdays or Sundays from January 10 to April 4

End-of-season concert on April 4.

Our teacher:

Natalie Meadors has over five years of teaching experience (two at Healing Force of the Universe) in vocals, drums, guitar, songwriting, and piano, with a specialty in early childhood development at Kid Row in Silver Lake. She has also worked as a creative writing facilitator for at-risk youth in LA County for five years. She is a singer-songwriter for her own project, Valley Queen, which tours nationwide, and a recent songwriter signee for Subpop Publishing.
