Alto saxophonist Devin Daniels is one of the most compelling voices to emerge from LA’s creative music scene. An Inglewood native, Daniels brings rare versatility without sacrificing his singular sound, performing with artists including Gerald Clayton, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and Herbie Hancock. In 2023–24, Hancock invited Daniels to perform at the Hollywood Bowl honoring Wayne Shorter and on a US tour. A 2024 Make Jazz Fellow, Daniels’ work spans modern jazz and electronic music, including LesGo! and releases as Kara-Do.
Camille Kerani is a genre-bending saxophonist and UCLA student whose work treats music as a living, interconnected practice rather than a fixed category. Raised on everything from punk and neo-soul to Coltrane, Fela Kuti, and Manu Dibango, Kerani draws from the deep roots of African diasporic music to create sound that moves freely between spiritual jazz, hip-hop, dub, house, and beyond. A self-taught improviser who sees the saxophone as an extension of self, she approaches music as a reflection of lived experience. Currently studying Global Jazz Studies with a minor in African American Studies, Kerani’s artistry is shaped by time spent in Brazil, Cameroon, and South Africa, and guided by a commitment to tradition, exploration, and intentional expression.
