Taylor Simone Harvey is a singer, songwriter, and producer based out of Los Angeles. Previously the lead singer of the group Jazze Belle, Taylor has performed at notable venues such as the Lincoln Center, and opened for the likes of Jamila Woods, Noname, and MUNA to name a few. As a 2022 Baldwin for the Arts Fellow and a 2024 Helene Wurlitzer Fellow, she’s created music that draws inspiration from her musical influences and elders, and thoughtfully infuses them into her work. These influences have helped shape her sound but it’s her personal perspective on what it means to be black artist and woman that truly shines.
Surrender, Taylor’s forthcoming project, is a dynamic exploration of grief and the selfhood that emerges from it. It is a roving, confused and deeply human project, not about overcoming pain, but about building the strength to live with the ache. Surrender is split into 2 EPs, side an and side b, and she will be performing side a for the first time at Healing Force of the Universe.
With sets from Rina Glover and Arnae Batson.
