Folding I-5 like a ribbon on a birthday gift, longtime collaborators from LA and the Bay Area reunite for a night of fierce, dreamy, original and improvised music. Steve Blum kicks off with solo synthesizer music bridging classical minimalism and electronic sounds. San Diego master improvisers Wilfrido Terrazas (flute) and Kathryn Schulmeister (bass) perform an exploratory duo set of sonic abstraction and invention. The Lisa Mezzacappa Trio presents original pieces by bassist Mezzacappa, Glenn, and woodwind virtuoso Cory Wright, showcasing their deep chemistry.
