Elf Freedom Presents: A Psychedelic Live Score to the Films of Georges Méliès & Alice Guy to Celebrate Their album release, "Visions of Utopia"
Step into a dreamscape where past and future merge as Elf Freedom, an immersive psychedelic ensemble, takes you on a hypnotic journey through early cinema. This special performance will feature an hour-long live score inspired by their album release, "Visions of Utopia" to a selection of groundbreaking films of Georges Méliès and Alice Guy, two visionaries who shaped the language of film itself.
Georges Méliès, the magician-turned-filmmaker, built a bridge between theater and cinema with his fantastical sets, elaborate illusions, and otherworldly narratives. His films, such as A Trip to the Moon, created the blueprint for cinematic fantasy and continue to inspire generations of filmmakers.
Alice Guy, one of the first female directors in history, was a true pioneer of narrative filmmaking, crafting imaginative and daring stories at the dawn of cinema. Her work broke new ground in storytelling, proving that film could be more than a fleeting spectacle—it could transport, transform, and mesmerize.
Elf Freedom’s live score will be a time-traveling device, weaving ethereal vocals, cosmic soundscapes, and hypnotic rhythms into an immersive sonic tapestry. As the celluloid phantoms of Méliès and Guy flicker on screen, Elf Freedom will channel the mysticism of early cinema through a swirling, psychedelic haze—melding past and present into a singular, transcendent experience.
Prepare to be transported.
