Austin Leonard Jones is a singing storyteller whose country-flavored songs blend fact and fiction into narratives that feel instantly familiar. Born and raised in Texas and now based in Ojai, CA, he has built a reputation for prolific creativity and heartfelt songwriting. In the past year alone, he’s released four albums on cassette: a live record, Dead Calm - a collection of new songs - and a two-volume, ten-year retrospective titled The Wonder Years of Austin Leonard Jones on Perpetual Doom Records. His work has drawn comparisons to great American songwriters like Kris Kristofferson and David Berman, and his music inspires sing-alongs from first listen. Jones has shared his songs and stories through intimate performances, including a standout appearance on the Scherler Sundays 2022 concert series. Whether recounting tour tales, wholesome adventures in Mexico, or simple joys like veggie burgers and riding in a pickup with his best friend Shenandoah, Jones brings humor, warmth, and honesty to his music - qualities that make his songs linger long after the last note.
